October Growth - Personal, Financial, and Professional

by Travis Wright

October has been a great month. In all facets of my life, I have noticed improvement. In health, mind, spirit, relationships, and business. I find myself becoming more focused with my eyes on the prize of life. Regardless of whatever obstacles that I encounter, they are no match for the flow. Fun thing is, the flow is just state of mind.

For one, at the first of the month, I left a position with a Fortune 500 company, that I couldnt stand. It was stunting my professional and personal growth. So, I sent out into the universe the thought of creating a position for myself that will move me along the path of personal development, one that will help me with my book and public speaking career. Voila! I scored a dream position with a computer training institute here in Kansas City as a Technical Trainer. I will work about 2.5 weeks a month teaching students on Adobe and Macromedia products. My public speaking career has begun. This is exciting. This stuff works.

Next, I finally started to monetize some sites online and see what kind of money can be made with affiliate programs and pay for click programs. So, I implemented quite a few ads on CultivateGreatness.com to see what is possible. Well, off of this site alone, between cj.com and Google’s Adsense, I made over $600 this month. Wow. So, I figure this money that came in… need to use it for more promotional work to get the site out in front of as many people as possible.

Also, had a great month with the kiddos and the wifey. My wife wanted to start a daycare in our new home, in fact, we actually purchased this house with having a daycare in mind. Well, she got her first daycare client this month! So, my wife is feeling successful. My son, who is turned 5 this month, and I enjoyed watching the World Series together. Sure, I didnt care about the Tigers or the Cardinals. Well, since Im from KC, we naturally do NOT like the Cardinals, but this is beside the point. My son’s Aunt ‘Wee’ and Uncle ‘Hank’ live in St. Louis, [wife's side of family] and last year we went to see a St. Louis Cardinal game in the Old Busch Stadium… so my son, has a second favorite team.

Well, as much as it pained me, I didn’t rain on the parade pertaining to my son enjoying the Cardinals win the Series. In fact, I made a point to let him stay up and watch all of the 5th and deciding game. He got to watch the celebrations, and the trophies being awarded. My son was loving it, as he loves baseball. I was loving it, because I could see the twinkle in his eye.

“Dad, someday I’m gonna win the World Series.” he confidently stated.

I replied to him “Son, that is the great thing about life, if you want something bad enough, and believe that you can do it… then you WILL do it. You just gotta believe it, bro. And I believe that you can do, whatever you decide to do.”

“I love you, Dad. You are the best dad in the whole world.”

Wow. You can’t ask for a bigger compliment than that from your son. Im blessed. I have a wife who is becoming successful in her chosen path, who loves me. A 9 month baby girl who is nothing but smiles and delight and a son, who thinks Im the best dad in the whole world. Can’t ask for more than that.

Plus, factor in that I now have 140 members subscribed to the Napoleon Hill Podcast on CultivateGreatness.com, but I also had 42 article submissions to the site this week. And 6 hundy to the CG Revenue Stream. Considering this site launched on August 12th, 2006. That aint bad.

So, personally, financially, and professionally this was a good month. Goals appear closer. The mornings seem a bit more cheery. The days are a bit more fun. And above all, I have gratitude that helps me appreciate it all.

Much Love to all of you!

I really Enjoy Napoleon Hill’s work. It is interesting seeing how his work is being used with modern technology.
