Live On Purpose

Every morning when a honey bee wakes up it knows three things. Fly to the flower, fly to the nectar, fly back to the hive. Live on PurposeWhen this job has been finished the bee repeats the process. Over and over and over again. A bees work seems to be never finished.

This is life life of the honey bee. Sure, it may take a moment to sting someone that swats at it, but the entire rest of that bees life is spent going from the flower, to the nectar, to the hive–then back to the flower again.

Bees spend their time doing what they were made to do. They live their purpose fully. There is one big difference between a bee and you though. The bee does not know why it does what it does, nor does it understand what result this tedious work will bring. Sure, the bee may understand they are making honey to feed the hive, but is that really all that’s going on?

Creating Life

February 2, 2024

babyBy CG.com Contributor Josh Bickford

When you arrived here as a baby your programming was very limited. You understood crying, sleeping, eating and the other natural effects of those actions. You didn’t know anything of what you know now. You were not born with the knowledge of what works and what doesn’t. Is wasn’t at your birth where you developed the ability to know what you were capable of. Imagine yourself as old and frail, you’ve lived a very long life. Right now you’re lying on your deathbed, a small white bed, buttons beeping everywhere around you, doctors and nurses scurrying everywhere you see. You know you’ve reached your end, and your life begins to flash before your eyes.

What are you thinking of? What is it that you’re going to be remembered for? Did you accomplish everything that you wanted to accomplish? Did you fulfill the purpose of your life?

As the doctors take more tests and poke and prod you who is it that you want to see? Did you have the kind of relationships that you wanted to have? Are the relationships you had with your family what you wanted? Do you get to meet the people you wanted to know, did you treat people in a way that you will be missed?

While you may be distracted by all the movement, noise and worried looks you see around you, the things your mind thinks of have nothing to do with the present. You’re thoughts are entirely focused on your life.

Choosing to focus in on these things can really put a damper on your attitude and your outlook of life.

I’ve had several people contact me and ask me whether or not it’s even worth reaching for magnificence in a world that is just so bad.

All of the bad things about the world are exactly why you MUST strive for greatness! It’s not a question of why you should or should not exert the effort to do something great with yourself, it’s how quickly can you do something great to help the world become a better place.
